Thanks for bringing that up. I wasn’t certain the virus protection on my PC was sufficient, which is why I kept searching for a better router. The security features can be confusing sometimes.

Yah, if you have a good AV and firewall then you'll probably be fine for the most part but having something dedicated to doing firewall and routing functions can offload a lot of that onto dedicated hardware and stop your AV from screaming every time a bot does a port scan
