You've been dealing with a persistent problem for a while. The issue starts when you try to install the AMD beta drivers for your AMD A10-8700p APU. Windows mistakenly thinks you're using an older driver and installs the 16.12 version. But after a few days, it switches back to a 2015 driver because it incorrectly assumes the newer one is outdated. This cycle repeats every day, even after disabling driver updates. Windows keeps making these changes on its own for some unclear reason. If this continues, I'm considering damaging the laptop. Undecided

You could locate the files it installs and set them to read-only xD. A patchy fix at best. This works on Windows 7, 8, or 10? Have you adjusted the update settings? There’s an auto-install driver option that isn’t labeled “download drivers.”

It might be due to a registry issue. Trying an automatic fixer app could help resolve it.

If the group policy isn't functioning, I definitely won't accept it not working either.

I'm using Windows 10 on a Windows 10 system. This issue started after I reformatted my entire HDD and reinstalled Windows 10 all over again. It's happening once more. :-D I mentioned I adjusted the settings so Windows wouldn't automatically download and install drivers on its own.
