Hi
I'm using an FX505 ASUS with an i5 9300 and have some concerns. I want to find ways to reduce CPU performance, lower core voltage, or enter a power-saving mode. When watching movies, the laptop gets warm, which isn't ideal. Also, I'd like to save battery when in battery mode. Any suggestions would be great.

You can use Intel XTU to lower the CPU voltage for better temperatures. Hope this thread is useful. Before making any changes, ensure your laptop is running the latest BIOS and that your operating system is current.
