Dota 2 stands out significantly, offering a more aggressive style with less focus on farming overall. Teamfights tend to last longer, and the jungle feels more engaging. Hero mechanics are much improved compared to LoL—most LoL heroes can be revived by combining three aggressive skills, one area-of-effect soft or hard CC, and an escape move. The laning phase now supports better dynamic play through effective denial strategies. Playing Dota 2 requires a bit more effort in CS, but the finals of the tournament were truly impressive.

I've been playing this game for three years straight. At first, it was really enjoyable... but after about one and a half years, things started to go wrong. Players began making poor choices that favored pro teams and LCS, ignoring what the regular players wanted. Then everything shifted—games lost their excitement. The community became toxic, with things like flame wars, rage quits, reports, and even personal attacks. It turned into a nightmare. So I moved to Dota 2, which felt more balanced and less hostile. That's my take.

Hey everyone, I used to play League of Legends for about four years—starting from beta around mid-2009 until summer 2013. It was a lot of fun, and I even spent a lot of money (around 1k euros) on skins and stuff. I really enjoyed it. But then Riot changed the game a lot, and the major updates turned out to be a disaster for me. That’s when I stopped playing LoL. The community became really toxic. I was always a good person—never flamed, never rage quit, and I dealt with trolls and bad guys. Dota 2, on the other hand, has a much better gameplay experience. It takes more teamwork and effort to master, though there are definitely players who ruin it. There are some toxic elements in the Dota 2 scene too—people who quit after losing, spam “GG” in chat, or Russian players flaming because they’re playing poorly or using cheats. And sometimes someone steals a kill while you’re playing as a carry. After playing both games (about 5k matches in LoL and around 1k hours in Dota 2), I’d say Dota 2 is way better overall. LoL just isn’t the same anymore.

You and your friends enjoy Dota 2, but I need to give it a shot. The LoL scene isn't always welcoming.
