I'm a fan of Dota 2 and I think we're stuck in a slow phase. Valve hasn't released a strong update lately, which is disappointing. The pace at which Arcana characters are arriving seems too quick—when a new hero launches, I expect to see more Arcana. The drop system remains unchanged; from the games I've played since the last update, I've only noticed a single drop after a match. What do you think about what we might see next?

It seems everything is aimed at a tiny group of dedicated fans. But that’s far from where it’s headed.

They could enhance the experience by offering alternative maps.

They are updating to the source engine for the next major release, which will enable map creation, game modes, and improved graphics options.

The next update will come from source 2 engine. The current focus on carry works well, though it's a patch for 4 protect 1. The multi-core setup really stands out and makes watching interesting. It's nice to see strong characters like Storm appearing more often than before (compared to the last 4p1 patch). Minor heroes might get tweaked, but the overall direction should stay consistent.

I think the meta is pretty diverse right now, there's no dominant strategy and the hero pool is looking nice. The upcoming Dota 2 Asian Championship is probably going to be really great. It's nice to see a non-TI tournament this big, I think it's important that teams can have a great year without attending to TI. Also, hero tier list for competitive Dota 2 in December: http://i.imgur.com/hne6I3g.png
