DOTA 2 and FPS have become unpredictable over the past two days... I'm having trouble keeping it stable.
DOTA 2 and FPS have become unpredictable over the past two days... I'm having trouble keeping it stable.
To access launch options, open the Steam launcher and navigate to the Library tab. Click the right mouse button on Dota 2, then select Properties and go to the General tab. Enter “Set Launch Options…” and add useful commands such as:
- Spoiler -map dota – loads the map faster
- high – prioritizes CPU for better FPS
- language “English” – sets game language
- dx9 / dx11 / vulkan / gl – specifies graphics backend
- 32bit – forces 32-bit client (may save RAM)
- console – enables in-game console
- +fps_max – raises the in-game FPS limit
Note: The 32-bit version doesn’t affect performance much, but uses less memory. There’s also an option in the game settings to adjust these limits directly.
Did you make any changes before the issue began? For example, did you start using an autoexec file from another source? I don’t see why console commands would stop working otherwise. You might want to check the Dota 2 community page or Reddit for similar experiences.
1. Switch renderer to Vulkan or DX11.
2. Apply MSI Afterburner to restrict your FPS.
3. Employ the driver's built-in FPS limiter.
