Doom Open Beta experiences crashes when using XSplit running.
I downloaded the open beta right after its release. As a Twitch streamer, I was hoping to spend most of my weekend playing it, but most of the time the game would crash when launching. After many attempts over the weekend, I eventually stopped trying and played other games instead. By chance this morning, when I tried it again, it worked perfectly. After some adjustments, I found out that Xsplit Broadcaster caused the game to crash on launch. If I switch between the game and Xsplit, it crashes immediately. Have others experienced this problem? I’m surprised many streamers on Twitch use OBS, and I’m disappointed I couldn’t enjoy the game this weekend. I’m hoping the developers fix this before the official launch since I plan to stream it on opening day.
Checking your display settings to see if full screen or windowed mode is active. Doom typically supports both, but confirm your system preferences.
Fullscreen mode was chosen. I didn’t want to adjust any options during the Beta testing. The game handled graphics settings automatically, letting it run without my interference.
uncertain about the usefulness, but I struggled to capture Doom gameplay using ShadowPlay on my laptop. Even when set to full screen—needed for the feature to function—I still couldn’t record or stream anything. It works in other games, so it’s likely not ShadowPlay. Possibly a bug in the beta version preventing recording or broadcasting. Hopefully, someone can help me figure this out!
The issue is that I can't play or stream anymore. I was going to rearrange my room for a better streaming/filming setup today, so I'm about to turn off my computer to start moving things.
