DOOM ETERNAL
DOOM ETERNAL
The developer and team behind this title are impressive, and the visuals in 4K and HDR really stand out. The gameplay mechanics are sharp, offering a tough experience. I believe it pushes the difficulty even further than DOOM 2016, especially since I've already conquered that challenging level on Nightmare.
So far it's been great. I don't know if I'd say it's harder, I'm playing on UV because I wanted to keep Nightmare for when I'd be more comfortable with the new mechanics and so far I haven't had a single game over due to the 1UPs. I think I died more in DOOM 2016 at the same difficulty. Also since you get to use the chainsaw very often I don't find myself running out of ammo nearly as much. It makes me think that maybe a UN run isn't out of my reach.
I also enjoy watching it in 4K HDR 10 with IPS 10-bit display. It really looks amazing.
I'm happy about the 4K and HDR performance, though the minimap looks quite dark. I hope they fix that issue—I think it's a bug in the HDR mode. It's been tough to play much lately because I keep getting pulled into other games with friends who aren't always there. But the games I've managed to play have really impressed me, definitely making me wish for a new GPU. Still, I'm glad it runs smoothly at over 60fps in Ultra Nightmare!
4K on a 49-inch screen is available, and it really looks stunning. The build quality and quick action sequences are impressive, though sometimes it feels a bit overwhelming. I’ve had trouble with some levels and found it hard to progress, so I think HDR would help. My TV’s color settings are set to standard, and switching to HDR earlier made the display look distorted. I need guidance on adjusting the right settings.
High-definition visuals with intense effects, simple to create.
