In Windows there is an internal tool that displays a list of all installed applications. You can right-click on them, choose properties, and check settings like automatic start or manual launch. It doesn’t appear in Task Manager or the newer app manager—it uses the traditional interface. The device manager seems to be what you’re referring to. You mentioned a shortcut on your taskbar that you’ve kept for years; it might be named something familiar but not immediately clear. After reinstalling Windows, you’re likely looking for clarification on its name or function.

It seems you're referring to the Services app. Would you like to know more about it?

Great job on getting it through! It was frustrating trying to recall it or find it online. Appreciate your effort!

I was planning to mention MSCONFIG and Startup choices, though Services.msc also works as mentioned earlier.
