Hey everyone, I brought back an HP SSD from work and connected it to my PC. We’d noticed a problem before but it was fixed. As soon as I powered it on, it wouldn’t boot Windows consistently—it kept showing the ASUS splash screen or saying it was trying to repair itself but stuck. I managed to restart twice, but it was a bit of a gamble. My setup includes an i7-5820K with 16GB RAM, a Vengeance 2133 6600XT SSD, a Samsung 870 Evo SATA drive, a 500GB WD Black HDD, and a 1TB Intel PCIe SSD that’s currently empty but plugged in. I cleared the CMOS and tried booting from a Windows USB to fix it, but it kept failing. Any suggestions on how to resolve this?
In certain setups with several drives (often RAID or multiple boot options), Windows may place boot files on individual drives.
