I have a core 2 extreme QX9650 3.0 ghz and I understand it's a solid processor, but I'm curious if I can push it further with my LGA 775 socket. My motherboard is the one linked here: http://www.ascendtech.us/dell-tp412-prec...2dsmb.aspx. I really appreciate you helping me through this, even though I'm a total newbie.

It's a video of an old PC from 2012, and the CPU used in 2007, making it outdated.

i have a core 2 extreme qx9650 3.0 ghz and i learned it’s a processor that can be overclocked. i’m curious if i can achieve this with my lga 775 socket. my motherboard details are: manufacturer=dell inc, model=otp412, chipset=intel x38 southbridge=intel 82801ir (ich9r). i’m sorry, i’m not very experienced and just copying the specs from cpu-z. i was hoping someone could guide me through this beforehand.

i have a core 2 extreme qx9650 3.0 ghz and i came to know its a good overclockable processor but i want to know if i can overclock it with my lga 775 socket my motherboard model and specs are as follows manufacturer=dell inc Model=OTP412 Chipset= INTEL x38 Southbridge=INTEL 82801IR (ICH9R) I'm sorry for my writing as i'm a noob to this and just copying the specs from CPU-Z
i was hoping someone could walk me through this THANKS in advance
Don't think a Dell motherboard would even have the ability to OC. I would suggest a board fitted in it's place, But being BTX, it's not something you could change for another motherboard easily
thanks for replying but check my motherboard here is link
http://www.ascendtech.us/dell-tp412-prec...2dsmb.aspx
and if this is not good then can you please recommend a good motherboard that will fit my processor

Take a glance at the bios to check if overclocking options exist. If not, consider that the CPU is too outdated to justify purchasing a new board.
