I assembled my PC about two years ago. It worked fine until yesterday when it stopped turning on completely. I attempted various fixes and believe the motherboard is faulty. After removing all components except the CPU, I’ve been supplying power to the motherboard through a 24-pin connector and to the CPU via an 8-pin connector. The issue remains unresolved, with no power detected. I tested the PSU by jump-starting it, and the internal fan started and remained active, suggesting the problem isn’t with the PSU. You can view the situation here: https://imgur.com/a/oPE3JOn. I think the motherboard is dead, but maybe someone here has more insight. Yes, I’ve cleared the CMOS.
Can't judge the PSU without looking at voltage levels. It seems the motherboard might be the issue, though the jump-start check isn't a complete solution for the PSU.
You're correct, I should proceed. With the meter ready, I'll move forward soon. If it works, it's time to get a new mobile.
The PSU delivers the right voltages. This should mostly rule out the issue, but it’s odd how it just stopped functioning suddenly—especially since it’s only two years old.
It was a time when my old motherboard would suddenly fail, often without any clear reason. Lots of times it just happened unexpectedly.
