Does Windows 11 include an inbox touchscreen driver?
Hi, Soon I am buying a Dell 3140 touchscreen laptop. When I checked the Dell Support website for Windows 11 drivers on this model, I saw no mention of touchscreen drivers listed. Instead, there was only an Intel HID Event Filter Driver RECOMMENDED for Mouse, Keyboard & Input Devices dated Dec 15, 2022. Since input devices usually include touchscreens, do you think that driver will cover my touchscreen? Or is Windows 11 supposed to come with built-in drivers just like the other ones? Thanks!
Yes, it has Windows 11 already built in, which means your touch screen should be working fine.
It comes with Windows 11 already installed. However, based on my experience, it always brings extra junk software like Office or antivirus tools when activated. So, after turning it on, I usually erase all data from the hard drive and start fresh by installing just what is needed, along with better drivers straight from the company's official site. That's why people are asking this question.
A normal vanilla Windows 11 install should work fine on that screen. However, my last two laptops already had an operating system installed: one ran Windows 10 and the other Windows 11. Both came with lots of extra programs (bloatware) preinstalled, so there were no trial versions to worry about.
Yeah, that sounds right. Maybe the way manufacturers make things is shifting today.
