Does the process of removing and restoring software have restrictions?
Hi everyone, is there a limit to installing and uninstalling software, like games? I'm not talking about in terms of a service having x amount of installs allowed, I mean in terms of the PC and doing any damage to it. Many thanks.
This usually relies on how the software removes itself, such as the quality of the uninstall process. There might be some log files and registry entries remaining. Evaluation tools typically capture statistics, like usage duration and whether you've exceeded the allowed evaluation time. If system restore is active, the space used by sysrestore after uninstallation will rise. Therefore, manual cleanup might be required. However, if you have enough free space, the uninstall process should work without restrictions and no issues with evaluation limits.
More uninstalling and reinstalling games increases the number of writes on your SSD, which can shorten its lifespan. However, this activity is unlikely to cause significant harm. The main impact would be minimal.
