Hi guys
my psu is coolermaster mpe-6501-acaag a gold one
i couldn’t find the production date online.
but i think it’s from around 2018.
i bought it used.
is it a low-efficiency psu?
even after two years it doesn’t supply power efficiently enough?
are there any websites where you can check the release date of a specific psu model?

Can't be from 2018—it's a Cooler Master MWE Gold V2 650w model introduced in 2021. It's a solid PSU, and you won't have to worry about any loss of performance for the next five years. The only minor change is a slight increase in ripple, but efficiency remains unchanged.

Can't be from 2018—it's a Cooler Master MWE Gold V2 650w model introduced in 2021. It's a solid PSU, and you won't have to worry about any loss of performance for the next five years. The only minor change is a slight increase in ripple, but efficiency remains unchanged.

Efficiency variations would have a minimal impact on a gold-rated power supply unit. Even a slight drop in efficiency of 1% could result in only about a 10% overall change in power consumption needed to maintain the same output. The total power output decreases as capacitors age, and this effect increases with temperature; therefore, PSUs are designed to operate continuously at loads between 50-80% of their maximum capacity. Efficiency peaks above 50% and remains stable below 80%, helping to regulate temperatures effectively.

Uncertain if it's a 2021 version, I don't have any sales information for it.
You could be referring to the MPE-6501-AFAAG-US, which remains in stock.
It's not clear how CM model codes function, but since C comes before F, it likely represents an older model.
