Does the BIOS version require being reverted?
I've changed my BIOS on an ASUS Prime Z790-P to v1805, which includes intel microcode updates. However, I did it too late, and now I experience game crashes and other issues with my current i9-13900k. I tried installing a new i9-14900kf, which is compatible with the motherboard, but it doesn't boot. Since I have a 4090 slot, it shouldn't affect things. The screen remains black, there are no beeps, and USB devices aren't receiving power.
Is there a chance that if the new CPU lacks the microcode updates but the BIOS is set to expect one, this could cause problems?
The Asus Z790 includes the latest update BIOS and microcode. Try updating the BIOS as you did before.
I understand if my previous message wasn't clear. My BIOS is confirmed to be up to date.
