It seems the 7600 and 7600 offer comparable performance at a lower cost. Should you choose one or the other and adjust it to match the 9600’s specs? There might be other options within the same budget that provide better performance.

I would choose 7600x or 7600 over 9600x. Same performance really.

9600x gains speed more than 7600x even after overclocking, though I still choose the 7700 from AliExpress because it offers more cores.

If you can adjust the 7600x to 9600x, then you don't need to go to 9600x to achieve more. These aren't isolated issues—they're connected. One, stock details matter. What are your pricing for each? Accurate calculations depend on cost, which is part of the overall picture.

It depends on the sales situation, but I’d consider spending another $20 or so for the 9600x if it appealed to me. The other choices don’t seem worthwhile. I think the recent 9950x3D review by HWUB included a chart comparing the 7600x and 9600x at the top.

The prices for these models are quite similar, so choosing between the 9600X and 7600X is straightforward. You'll likely pick either the 9600X or the 7600 depending on your needs. The main difference comes from adding PBO to the R5 7600, which brings its performance close to the 7600X. This change won't make a big impact for most games, except perhaps in certain racing titles or Civ 6 turn times. For productivity tasks, the 9600X might be worth it based on your workload. If you're using AVX512, go for the 9600X without hesitation. Otherwise, if you're focused on casual gaming and $44 matters, the 7600X is a solid choice.
