Is Star Wars: The Old Republic a worthwhile investment? It appears to be a promising game, yet I’m hesitant to purchase it given its $100 price tag for a three-month subscription – specifically, $70 to acquire the game and an additional $30 for a 60-day time card.

I was told the quality wasn't great. However, if you’re looking for a Star Wars massively multiplayer online game, then by all means, try it. My hesitation stems solely from the recurring payment requirement – I already spend a considerable amount on Xbox Live Gold.

It’s appalling, and I'm a Star Wars enthusiast, it’s significantly worse than World of Warcraft, to purchase a game that appears unfinished and then continue paying monthly fees. This is unbelievable!

For those who enjoy the Star Wars world, proceed; otherwise, refrain! Indeed, the cost is excessively expensive, and once you attain a high level, the game can become quite tedious.

The Star Wars: The Old Republic game feels more like a solo adventure than a traditional massively multiplayer online role-playing game. Seventy percent of the European servers are currently experiencing low player activity.

The Star Wars: The Old Republic game is primarily a solitary adventure rather than a traditional massively multiplayer online role-playing game.
This is true.
If you appreciate RPGs, it offers a satisfying solo experience with compelling narratives for each character class. However, after completing all classes up to level 50 and engaging in some player versus player combat, the game tends to lose its appeal.
Consider SWTOR similar to Fallout 3 within a Star Wars setting – you experience it from beginning to end, rather than continually playing and interacting with others like in World of Warcraft.
Despite this limitation, I would still recommend trying it, especially given the introductory period and one-time purchase option. I personally played for two months and wasn't disappointed with my investment, although I initially desired a more enduring engagement.

Initially, I anticipated enjoying this game greatly, but after beginning with the beta version, I became quickly fatigued by level 20 and ceased playing. Subsequently, several of my companions expressed their intention to begin after the game’s official release, prompting me to purchase it in order to participate. However, I once more experienced rapid boredom around levels 20-30 and ultimately discontinued playing after only one month. I terminated my subscription last week.

Greetings, if the game lacked a recurring payment plan, it might justify the cost for solo narrative experiences. However, considering this, Star Wars: The Old Republic is not a reasonable investment at the price point EA demands.

What was BioWare contemplating with this title? They should have simply concluded the Kotor series initially.
