This might help with SFC by right-clicking Start, picking Terminal (admin) if it isn't PowerShell, then clicking the little arrow in the title bar and choosing that from there. Paste this command into your window: Repair-WindowsImage -Online -RestoreHealth and press Enter. Then type SFC /scannow and press Enter to restart your computer if any files are fixed. The first command cleans up files using system tools, and the second command fixes actual system files. SFC = System File Checker. The first command runs DISM - https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows...windows-11

That might be your issue. You're probably having trouble with in-place upgrades because there are so many different kinds of computers and systems out there that it sometimes doesn't work as well as it should - which usually means you get these annoying little problems like yours. If this were mine, I would just do a full wipe of my computer by removing the existing UEFI settings.

ubuyinga, you are probably right. I am a person who likes things to be perfect and a few years ago I would have said yes to an easy clean install. Now though, because I get lazy as my years go on, I want something easy that does the work for me. Like using system restore or reset instead of doing it myself. Colif, I will try your fix suggestion first before asking everyone else. Thanks. By the way, I spoke to someone about power options too. The only setting that lets the laptop sleep when you close the lid is to set it to "Never" sleep. It seems weird at first but it's just the only thing that works for me.

Colif, it said WindowsImage was fine and SFC didn't see any problems. But I can't put my JPEG picture in this message. I need some advice from you or others on whether to do a full system reset.

No need to take screenshots because you mean to do a clean install; it's up to you. They just want to make sure you have all your files safe and ready before you start. Resets are not as great, I think they delete your Windows entirely, so why bother? Just follow this guide: https://forums. It's basically the same thing, which is why we never made a separate "how to do a 11 install" guide.
