Hi there. Two weeks ago, my computer went black and stopped seeing my graphics card. Windows started up fine because I could still hear the startup sounds. If I plug my screen into a different port on the motherboard that connects to an iGPU (integrated graphics chip), it works, but Windows doesn't detect the GPU at all. It also never shows up in the list of hidden devices. I can't install Nvidia drivers because they say nothing is detected. The card isn't showing up when I check the BIOS either.

Two days ago, I got a blue screen and the computer wouldn't turn on. I fixed that by reseating (moving) the SSD to hold it in place and also reseating my graphics card so it could see the SSD. Right now, the integrated graphics work fine, but I still don't know why this happened.

I checked my hard drive with CrystalDiskInfo three days ago, and again, when the screen went black with just the iGPU on, Windows wouldn't boot (it would get stuck loading). I tried: reinstalling Windows, resetting the CMOS battery, updating the BIOS, checking what GPU options are available in the BIOS, reseating both graphics cards one at a time and testing them individually, and making sure everything boots fine using only the integrated graphics.

I also checked my monitor and cable. I tried an old graphics card that definitely couldn't detect anything, but its fans were spinning when it was plugged into the computer. Both the SSD and the HDD gave me the same result when booting. I removed the old drivers with DDU in safe mode to make sure nothing was stuck there. I even changed my motherboard from the original to a new Gigabyte 365 DS3H.

I checked my hard drive one more time with CrystalDiskInfo and it still won't let me install drivers because it says it can't find the card. My PC specs are: Intel i7-9700 B365M Pro, running on a 365 DS3H motherboard, 2x8GB DDR4 RAM sticks, 1x 2TB Samsung SSD and 1x HDD, 1TB EVGA 600W power supply, an old NVIDIA 2060 Ti GPU, and I'm using HDMI.

I think the problem might be with my power supply, even though I don't think it's the CPU. I just don't know for sure yet. Maybe I should try putting my graphics card in another computer to prove that it works there too. I am running out of ideas and need some help.

Welcome to the forums! EVGA makes those power supplies with 600W ratings, and that's what they advertise. But wait, which model are you actually using? How long has it been sitting in your box? I guess it might be an older version of a Power supply that you could borrow from someone else who knows better. You'd want to get one that can handle 650W so everything works together smoothly. Also, what BIOS version have you used on the system before? Oh yeah, if you switched motherboards, you'll need to reinstall your operating system again. Just in case, don't forget about OS reinstallation even if it came later!

Hi lutfij, thanks for your reply. I'll give you the exact name of the PSU right after I get home. I updated the BIOS on the old MOBO (b365M pro vh) to version 7C31v16. I also updated windows with the old Motherboard and haven't tried it yet with the new one. I will try today and come back here. Thanks again!

Hi Lutfij, Just finished a clean install of Windows but my GPU still won't show up anywhere. Since I don't have access to borrow an old one, I'm not worried about buying a new power supply because mine might be too weak anyway. My current unit is an EVGA 600W W1 that's white and has been around for at least three years. Are there any other steps I can take besides just swapping out the PSU? Thank you so much for reading!

So today I put a new power supply (NZXT C850) in my PC and turned it on. The computer immediately knew about the GPU, so I installed the NVIDIA app to fix the drivers and everything is working right now. It looked like the old power supply was bad, but then I decided to restart the computer and suddenly the problem came back up again. The GPU still isn't showing up anywhere. I've already tried running DDU in safe mode to remove the old drivers, but it won't turn on. Do you have any ideas? If anyone else has had a similar issue, found a way to get the GPU detected. Turns out if I unplug the power cable from the PSU and let it sit with the switch off for 30 minutes before turning the computer back on, it works fine right away. But if I just restart normally, I have to do that same waiting step again every time.
