Hi all, I'm building a new PC like the ones Linus recently built for video editing, with the ROG Zenith II Extreme Alpha board, and I noticed while moving the mobo around, it has a sound like a loose screw or something inside the part with the rear I/O and the display. I can't imagine this is normal or a good thing, but before I go through the trouble and lost time of doing an exchange, I thought I'd make sure this is not just a known" feature" of the board. I don't know if the board works yet because I realized while building it that I bought the wrong cooler (the non-TR4 U-14S). But even if I had the right cooler, I don't want to go through the trouble of mounting the heatsink and everything unless I'm sure that I'm going to keep it if it works - and a possible loose part seems like something that could cause hidden trouble or some trouble later. The CPU is already mounted with no cooler.

Simply disassemble it, "lost time" doesn't justify thorough effort, particularly when someone online might be mistaken.

Submitted the discussion. Initially unsure, but after checking the comments, I’m more sure the board got harmed during shipping or production.
