I am considering a processor similar to the amd fx 6300, featuring a 5.5 ghz core speed that can boost up to 4.1 ghz. Many users in forums and on YouTube have chosen to overclock it with the stock cooler down to 4.0 ghz. Is this worth the effort? I understand the dangers of overclocking with the stock cooler, but since the chip is built to reach 4.1, is that still a concern? Additionally, since you probably will turn the turbo off and stick to 4.0 ghz, wouldn’t it be more sensible to keep everything at the default speed instead? Under heavy load, the overclocked version might actually perform better than the default setting.

It only works on one core; running all cores together is preferable even if it doesn't match the turbo speed. If you reach 4GHz, it's superior to turbo at 4.1 GHz.
