As mentioned in the title, I want to stream using this setup. Right now I don’t have it, but since I’m planning to get it, I’d like to know if it will work well. My main goal is a good quality 720p at 60fps or better. I noticed Ryzen performs better than Intel for streaming, though I wouldn’t pick it just for that alone. The 8700K is considered the best option for streaming within the Intel lineup, but I don’t want to pay such a high price for a top-end CPU paired with this mid-range GPU—it feels like overkill. I think the 8700K should work well with around 1080p at 144Hz, which would be even more demanding and costly. So should I consider upgrading to a stronger CPU or is this the right choice?

If you aim for a non-OC option, choosing the 8700 would provide the HT benefit for streaming.

It's okay if you're unsure about overclocking; it can be a waste of money if you're not sure what you're doing.

1660ti is mid range, I'm playing on 1080p, it's just pointless to have 8700, I won't get any noticeable improvements if I go for 8700 instead of 8600. If 8700 matters a lot for streaming, I'll go for it.

1080p doesn't affect the performance of the 8700. If you were using it at 4K, the CPU power would matter less, making 1080p 144Hz actually better for the i7. The 8700 pairs well with the 1660 ti, particularly for streaming. Also, since you're using a scaled-down k SKU CPU, you won't need a Z370 motherboard if you intend to use one.
