Does CPU and GPU usage decrease to under 10% following both light and heavy gaming?
During the early stages of gameplay, both CPU and GPU performed adequately under high load (over 50% usage, above 50°C). Within less than thirty minutes, utilization dropped significantly or throttling occurred. Initially, fans operated normally, but after around ten minutes, usage fell below 10% and temperatures stabilized. Exiting the game resolved the issue, restoring normal performance.
Personally, I’m not too concerned despite Wuthering Waves being a demanding title. What surprises me is comparing it to Hollow Knight, a light 2D platformer—similar issues arise, but with different timing. For Hollow Knight, throttling happens briefly before returning to normal and then again shortly after. Checked fan speeds and found no changes even after adjusting them. I discovered a tool called ThrottleStop, but I’m unsure how to use it and feel hesitant without proper advice.

Intel I7-11800H
GeForce RTX 3060 TI

Welcome to the forums, newcomer! ThrottleStop can assist with undervolting, but because of PlunderVolt this feature is no longer available for your CPU. You might attempt it, though results are inconsistent, especially with Intel 9th and 10th Gen processors, and it becomes unfeasible after the 10th Gen. You may consider lowering Power Limits instead. Alternatively, you could lower your GPU's voltage to manage temperatures. I recommend ensuring you have the most recent BIOS for your laptop, then disassembling it to replace the thermal paste and pads with higher-quality alternatives. This is because the original factory materials are generic, often due to cost-cutting measures by the manufacturer.
