Does an Asus G14 keep freezing and restarting on its own?
Hello, I just bought my laptop at BestBuy and here are some links to check its specs. I am having really weird problems where it freezes on its own without doing anything demanding, or restarts even when I do nothing. Some times it shows a BSOD error but not too often. These things happen even one after another. I also froze in the BIOS when I was looking at my settings. When I start up the laptop, the CPU gets very hot around 93C and then the fans turn on to cool it down back to about 80C. But whenever the screen freezes, it stays on with a green block that flickers sometimes while the fan runs. The disk light stops flashing and sometimes the fans just start running without stopping.
I tried cleaning my laptop completely and installing Windows 11 again but it's still freezing or restarting when I plug it into the charger, even though it was stable before. After reinstalling Windows 10 and checking all drivers, fixing sfc scans, running WMDT, CHKDSK, looking at logs for Event ID 153 (disk), and finding this list of errors including Event ID 521 / Task 220 (Kernel-Power) and Event ID 55 / Task 47 (Kernel-Processor-Power), I still only get these freezes when the laptop is charging. Everything else seems fine now that it's on Windows 10 except for those crashes while plugged in.
I'm really lost because this happens so much, but someone please help me fix this and let me know what you think is going to happen next with my laptop. Thanks a lot!
Hi there! You got a fresh Win11 set up on your laptop. Even if you're charging, it freezes or restarts. But with a clean Win10 setup, nothing happens when the charger isn't connected to power. Where did you get those installers from? Maybe your laptop has old BIOS settings causing issues? Try using DDU (a cleanup tool) and then reinstalling the graphics drivers manually as an Administrator by right-clicking the installer and choosing "Run as Admin." This should help fix your problem!
I have Windows 10 or 11 installed by Microsoft. It's not really a special program for making media, but my laptop is already pretty new. I tried editing the disk with DDU but nothing worked.
