Does an 850W Gold Plus power supply meet the requirements of this build?
Does an 850W Gold Plus power supply meet the requirements of this build?
Hello there
I'm planning to upgrade my system and wanted to know if I need to purchase a new PSU as well.
I did some online calculations regarding PSU wattage, and it looks like the total TPD from the CPU cooler might not be sufficient.
I really value having a more seasoned perspective here.
My current PSU is an EVGA 850W Gold Plus.
The upcoming specs are:
MOBO: Asus Z790-E or similar
CPU: i7 13700k
CPU Cooler: DeepCool Assassin 4
RAM: 2x16GB DDR5
GPU: 4070 ti
1 NVMe
2 SSD's
1 HDD
No overclocking
Looking forward to your advice.
No, but using a cooler with a more advanced design still requires adjusting the voltage and reducing the CPU's power draw. The top-tier air coolers work well with up to 200 watts, while your CPU can handle around 280 watts.
Air coolers require only a minimal amount of power for the fans. I'm still unsure why this is important for your power supply decision. It seems like I might have missed something. What did Coolermaster mention about the power used by your motherboard, NVMe, RAM, or CPU? One by one, or all at once?
Damn... I think you're correct. It must have seemed foolish of me, hahaha.
