I rarely use PDF files except when necessary. For that purpose, I stick to Chrome. It saves me from needing any extra third-party programs. Ubuntu comes with its own PDF viewer, though most of the files I see are online. When it comes to editing or creating, Adobe is the main option—especially in a professional setting where they always support the PDF formats you encounter.

It varies based on your goals with the PDFs. For simple viewing, Acrobat Reader works well. To make changes, Acrobat Pro is recommended, though alternatives like Foxit Reader or Nitro PDF may suffice if you don’t have Pro.
