I didn't get it. You mentioned having one 2GB stick and one 4GB stick, and you're asking if you can just buy another 2GB stick instead. That would give you two 2GB sticks and one 4GB stick.

The system could face problems and might need to lower all clocks to around 800MHz—check Task Manager if it boots. In the worst scenario, buying one 4GB or another pair of 2GB would fill all slots as planned. As a note, try different configurations like Dimm A1 2GB, Dimm A2 Empty, Dimm B1 2GB, Dimm B2 4GB, or similar, but results aren't guaranteed.

You have two 2GB sticks at 1333MHz. A good setup would be to split them between DIMM 1 and 3, with the remaining 4GB in DIMM 2 or 4. This balances memory capacity while keeping frequencies consistent.

Hopefully latencies (CAS rating) match, that should be okay. I'm mainly concerned about potential issues if everyone downclocks due to mismatched speeds. Yes, I'll try that first—stick it in 2(A2) if needed. Usually, that slot is the strongest (4/'B2' is the second best). I edited late, just double-check if it's running at 1333hz via Task Manager (the picture above was lost). If it is, you're good to go.
