Check out uMatrix in your browser like Chrome or Firefox. Even if it works with a little trouble, maybe you shouldn't try it because you'd need to let the site decide for itself what can see through the screen. If that's too hard, then don't bother trying.

I can't really say that I figured out how to fix the uMatrix extension. I'm not sure if extensions get ads or not because they are built right into the site like normal stuff. For Reddit, when I opened uBlock and clicked on an ad to remove it, it worked! But after refreshing the page, a different ad appeared as a "promoted post." With YouTube, sometimes the ad gets blocked and leaves empty space in the menu, other times the ad shows up again.

I've been using AdblockPlus in Chrome for about two years, and I haven't seen any YouTube ads ever. It works pretty well on most websites.
