the main reason i considered the 9700x was the wattage, but let me be honest the 7800x3d actually seems more suitable for gaming in the long term, because i haven’t planned to upgrade my setup for a while. I’m unsure when I’ll stop using it or get excited again, especially with new games coming out. People often don’t like future-proofing, but sometimes it’s unavoidable.
