The weakest point in that assessment remains 8 to 10 times quicker than the HD 4250. Your idea of what's "playable" probably differs from mine.

It seems the performance is comparable to an iGPU from the Haswell i3 line. It’s unlikely the developers aimed for such speed on that platform.

Meant for no. Yet it works perfectly—really impressive. Adding dedicated VRAM also brings noticeable improvement.

Yeah. My FX 6300 and R9 270X were reaching 60fps on ultra settings near Sanctuary at launch. Then I began really diving in. The further you travel south, the tougher it becomes for your system to handle the game. In the end, I had to lower my frame rate to 30 and make several adjustments plus install some performance tweaks just to keep the game running smoothly about 99% of the time. Without those changes, I’d notice frequent drops into the mid-teens to low teens, which isn’t ideal. Mostly in the financial district, and in spots like around the Corvega Factory and along the Fens Street Sewers. Everywhere else was either around 60 or constantly swinging between 40-60, which is too unstable for smooth play. That’s why I stuck at 30fps. Now I own a 6600k and a 390.Performance—clearly it handles things much better, keeping 60fps most of the time. Interestingly, when my frames dip, they usually happen in different areas; for example, during chats where it stays solid at 60 before talking, then plummets to about 20 when switching to the dialogue camera. It quickly recovers once I leave the chat. Turning off the dialogue camera solves that problem for me. Still, it’s odd. Overall, the game isn’t really optimized in many places, making it hard to get accurate benchmarks. Most of the graphs I see show only a few-frame difference between minimum and average rates. That doesn’t sound right to me. Based on what I’ve tried with both low-end and decent hardware, the performance varies too much.

I don't have your specs, but here are a few mods that boost performance and, aside from the config tool, enhance visuals. Vivid Fallout - Landscapes - Textures in HD - ORIGINAL SIZE - LOWER RESOLUTION by Hein84 improves ground detail while saving VRAM (a touch of magic). Vivid Fallout - Rocks - Textures in HD - ORIGINAL SIZE - LOWER RESOLUTION by Hein84 enhances rock quality with reduced memory use (Hein84 is quite the sorcerer). FAR - Faraway Area Reform (LOD) by SparrowPrince refines distance perception and should improve performance. Fallout 4 Configuration Tool by Bilago offers many options, some of which aid performance, like disabling certain effects, adjusting CPU priority, tweaking shadow settings, AA parameters, filtering methods, and grass density.

I thought I might spot @don_svetlio in the initial message... but it didn’t turn out that way.

It depends on the context and your feelings. If it feels inappropriate, you might want to feel flattered; if it seems odd, you could feel offended. Consider what you intended and how it was received.

Not both because it would create unnecessary complexity.

It's confusing why you're with me if you don't play those games. What do you think is going on?
