I disabled the page file since it occupies space on my C: drive, but I wanted to verify whether it was actually turned off.

pagefile is not available, system is disabled
If you don’t encounter memory issues, you probably won’t need it

Because the process involves additional steps that incur a fee.

the disablement was achieved by removing the pagefile, allowing the virtual memory to reside entirely within the physical RAM for applications that require it.

Because the system already has sufficient memory and no additional charges are applied.

You cannot disable the pagefile. It is essential.
Memory subsystem errors may occur.
You can configure the pagefile to reside on another drive if you're running out of space on C: .
Choose a custom size, starting at 1GB and capped at 16GB.
With 32GB of physical RAM, the pagefile should generally stay at the initial size.

No way anyone can run today without virtual memory.
Penny wise and pound foolish.
Turn the page file back on.
Windows may crash if it needs one.
Allocate at the very least to the size of your ram. On a ssd if you can, on a hdd if you must.
Better, allocate significantly more. It will not be used unless needed.
If your ssd devices are so short of space, find a way to get more.
SSD devices approaching 95% full will lose performance and endurance.

What is the capacity of your C drive? With 32GB of RAM, the pagefile size can be kept relatively small.
However, it is still required.

Type ...system... in the search box.
Click on system info.
Scan down to .....page file space.
If it shows zero I suspect the page file is off.
Is it needed? ...yes/no/maybe.
May depend on the hardware you have and the stuff you run.
I don't use a page file, runs fine.

Have you turned off hiberfil.sys? It tends to use a lot more disk space than pagefil.sys. I disable hiberfil.sys on all my desktop computers since I don’t use Fast Startup or Hibernation.
On many laptops, I keep hiberfil enabled, but I haven’t activated Fast Startup yet. I still leave the swapfile and pagefile active on every system.
If you want more space on your C: drive, try running Disk Cleanup with "Cleanup system files" turned on. You often find it helps remove around 6.5GB of old Windows Update files.
