You're not required, but you can confidently align the 1600x by adjusting the multiplier if necessary.

Yea, ram overclocking is the only way I'd think about it for sure. Ryzen demands quick memory, and regular kits usually stay at 2133 unless you enable XMP/DOCP in the BIOS.
