Do you need right wires for a question?
Building my first PC. I bought an MSI MPG X870E Edge TI motherboard that only has one PCIe power plug labeled PCIE PWR1 for the graphics card. But it also has one regular slot, 6 pins high, right next to the power block with two other slots below it. The power supply is a Segotep GM850W. It has three cables coming out labeled PCIE. Two of them have four long plugs each like the main power plug on my board. One cable looks exactly like the small one on the graphics card. I also got a 600-watt cord with two plugs at each end, just like the big power plugs. Based on all that, I think the PCIE cable should go to the motherboard's middle plug while the free wire connects to the power block. And this 600W cord goes straight from the PSU to the graphics card. Is my guess correct? Also, I couldn't find a reset switch cable for the Gamedias Athena M3. Any tips or suggestions? Thanks!
It is easier to be clear than to get stuck in words so you don't misunderstand things. If you are new to this, show pictures of the plugs you are using instead of just writing them down. Put your picture on a site like Imgur and send us the link. The thing on the left side connects to the power supply unit. The things on the right go into your parts. Sometimes those little pieces break off in interesting ways; for example, that 8-pin PCIe plug or the 8-pin EPS plug are different shapes. Just put it simply: you can't force a PCIe plug onto an EPS plug because they look and work differently. If your power supply had a 12-volt-6-pin thing, just use that instead of trying to change it with an adapter. Make sure it is completely pressed in on both the computer's end and the power supply's end.
