In the late 2000s, my grandma worked for IBM and she gave me a laptop that was really impressive. I’m trying to recall its details and need assistance identifying it from my memory. I’ll describe it carefully and hope you can help determine the exact model. It was likely from around 2008 to 2012, paired with Windows XP. The closest match I found is the T430. I notice all the keys were square with no gaps, and it didn’t have IBM-style buttons. It seems similar to a T410 but with a different keyboard layout, and the power button was more prominent. It didn’t have the Lenovo logo either. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Do you know the types of ports it featured or its screen dimensions? Based on what you shared, it's possible it was any model with various setups. Lenovo acquired IBM in 2003, which likely led to the use of the Lenovo brand for their PCs, possibly before that period if it was still under IBM.

Back then, the laptop models usually came either with a late Core 2 Duo or the first to third generation Core series. The T400-T430 models, possibly the T440, didn't necessarily have a fourth generation GPU. It's hard to say much about them.

the screen looked more like a widescreen than a box. the battery was tight and didn’t protrude much. another thing I can mention is the z60t, it reminds me of that model but it lacked a fingerprint scanner. i was about ten years old at the time, so it felt very familiar.

I also notice the click buttons had a red highlight on them.

The Lenovo Y series then includes the Y410p, which features red lined keys, a flush battery, and a GPU.

they weren't just the lmb and rmb that displayed the little red line, i believe, not the keyboard.

I believe it could be an R60, but there are other versions without the grey keys.

I believe it matches about 99% of what I recall. The only difference is that I don’t remember a fingerprint scanner being present. Is there one that appears identical without it? If not, perhaps my memory failed or something, which is why I don’t recall it.
