Do you need a new laptop suited for gaming and photo/video editing?
I'm searching for a suitable laptop that can serve as a reliable replacement for my home PC during photo/video editing and gaming trips. I need something that is:
* Compact and portable
* Durable construction
* High-quality display (accurate colors, 120Hz+, ideally OLED)
* Minimum 32GB of RAM
* At least a 2TB SSD storage
* Connectivity options like HDMI and USB-A or USB-C
I don’t want a bulky, light-up machine with a futuristic appearance. I’m aiming for a sleek design instead.
The two models that have caught my eye are:
* HP Omen Transcend (2024) – Core Ultra 9 185H, 32GB RAM, 2TB SSD, 2.8K 120Hz OLED, Nvidia 4070
* Asus Rog Zephyrus G16 OLED (2024) – Core Ultra 9 185H, 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD with one free slot, 2560x1600 240Hz OLED, Nvidia 4070
Are there any other laptops currently available or upcoming that meet these requirements? Your feedback and recommendations would be greatly appreciated!
Best regards
If you're seeking a laptop suitable for gaming and video editing, the "Acer Nitro 5" would be a good choice. The bezels are fairly thin, the viewing angles are acceptable for the screen size, and it's quite portable. I'm uncertain about whether it uses an OLED panel or a 120 Hz refresh rate, and I don't know for sure if it offers 32 GB of RAM based on my current knowledge. Upgrade possibilities might be an option. Budget-wise, I'd prefer to avoid overspending.
I'll check it up.
My budget is fairly high since I plan to swap my main PC when I'm away.
I'm targeting around $2500 to $3000.
Primary uses are:
- Video and photo editing
- Gaming
I need a slim laptop with an OLED display, thin bezels, USB-A and USB-C ports, at least 32GB RAM, HDMI.
if those are the freedom bucks thats pretty high for the country i live in. the laptop i mentioned is around 750 dollars so you have room to upgrade this thing if you do get to buy it
Not confident about purchasing from this store, but you can check it out. I experimented with the filters.

Regarding the MSI build quality, it's not great, but it shouldn't be too bad if the laptop is almost 1-2K.
