I own a Legion 5 MB that might require a part swap. With a heat gun and other micro-tools at my disposal, I could handle the repair, but tracking down a defective component might need external assistance. I replaced the screen and overlooked unplugging the battery, and the heat source doesn’t seem to be near the CPU or GPU—possibly a chance. I’m looking for a workshop that can inspect and test the parts if I have to send them elsewhere. This laptop is really good, so I wouldn’t want to give it up for a cheap replacement. A new model from Lenovo would cost well over $1K. Any advice would be appreciated.

The motherboards I noticed available come with a higher price tag, and they were previously used. In a laptop, there aren't many replaceable components. Almost everything is integrated into the motherboard.

Regarding recommendations in the DC area, I don’t have any suggestions I’d recommend. I can help you conduct similar searches yourself.

That said, I’d advise avoiding any chains or shops that specialize in smartphone repairs.
Contact a few options to get a better feel.

Thanks, yes it's tough to locate a shop that focuses on surface-mount repairs. I’m trying to fix the laptop and replace the screen, so this feels like a necessary job I should finish.
