Do you have sufficient power supply capacity to support a CPU upgrade?
You're considering a CPU upgrade to improve performance with your RTX 4070 Super, but you're uncertain about whether your current setup can support it. Your specs and concerns are clear, and you're checking if your PSU can handle the additional power demands.
The 650w PSU is nearing its limit with the 4070 Super, so switching to a 700-850w model might be necessary, such as the beQuiet series.

You probably won’t see a huge performance boost from any of those CPUs. An i7 14700K could be a more practical upgrade. Is the cost worth it? It seems like a significant investment.
I'm not really aiming for a performance boost, my main worry is addressing the bottleneck. If any of those choices can ease it, I'd go with the i5-14500 since its TDP matches my current CPU, avoiding a PSU swap. I'm still unsure if this will actually help with the bottleneck. I've also thought about upgrading to 1440p and skipping component changes altogether.
I chose the i5-14500 because its TDP matches the 13400F, allowing me to reuse my current PSU until I save for an upgrade. I also plan to upgrade the monitor later, which will let me use the graphics card fully. Thanks!
