Looking for a business laptop for my wife, mainly using Excel and Power BI software. I’m wondering if there are better options available besides the 13700k model from Bestbuy. I’m open to finding more value, perhaps with higher memory capacity or other alternatives. I’m considering a 16GB or more RAM option and am evaluating Ryzen chips against the Bestbuy link. I currently have three similar-priced models, but I’m willing to explore other good deals. I’m also planning to take advantage of Memorial Day sales.

I recently acquired an 8845HS based laptop. It's about a generation older than the latest AMD Ryzen AI models.
RDNA 3 12 CU GPU with 30W total power consumption, paired with the CPU, similar to the Steam Deck. It features an 8-core Ryzen CPU and a small NPU, allowing you to potentially activate Microsoft Co-Pilot features.
Newegg is offering this 14" refurbished unit for sale.

Another comparable 16" model

I haven't tried refurbished products before, usually I go for the new, but it looks like you're getting a great deal if it works out.

I did buy new, picked one up at Microcenter. It is basically the blue version of that 16". They make it look very blue in the pictures but it is a quite dark metallic blue in person. All metal though, which is quite a premium feeling laptop.

I have seen these at other places, but usually closer to $700.
Memory is not upgradeable, and it only has the one drive slot. Normally, I would not get something like that, but the only thing I ever did to my last laptop was replace the harddrive it came with to an SSD.

Good gaming laptop for $650 found just now
Hah, popped up right after I shared it in Tom's Memorial Day deals.
MSI Thin 15.6 inch FHD 144Hz Gaming Laptop Intel Core i5-13420H NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 - 16GB DDR4 512GB SSD Gray (2025) - Walmart.com
Purchase MSI Thin 15.6 inch FHD 144Hz Gaming Laptop Intel Core i5-13420H NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 - 16GB DDR4 512GB SSD Gray (2025) from Walmart.com
www.walmart.com
Other options didn’t stand out much. I really dislike searching on Amazon, but if you know a CPU you like, you can often find a matching system there. Just keep in mind you’ll have to filter through about two-thirds of the results that are totally different hardware.

I found one and decided to like it. It was a random choice between HP and Lenovo.
