So my friend mentions he wants to upgrade his gaming rig. He’s already replaced an old power supply, and he plays a lot of CS2, sometimes experiencing lag. I was considering the platform (CPU + memory + AIO), but I’m not sure it will really help him. What should he consider upgrading?

If I were you, I'd choose a non-F, K SKU processor and pair it with a Z790 chipsetted motherboard. This would assist in handling discrete GPU problems and allow for overclocking the K SKU processor. Would you like me to share a link to the RAM you're using? Also, how old is the Corsair RM850e?

The GPU is the most vulnerable part here.
First, upgrade it.
Next, increase the RAM to 32GB.

What about the CPU? Is it still in good condition? This model comes with a Corsair H100X processor. I’m not sure about the RAM, but it seems likely to be budget options around 2666Mhz.
