I've been searching for methods to boost my performance and came across this article. It suggests ensuring you have the latest drivers for your MB. Unfortunately, I didn't realize my MB wouldn't work with Windows 10 after upgrading. Should I attempt overclocking using a base BIOS driver? Or should I consider downgrading my system to Windows 7 first and then working on overclocking? I'm uncertain if I can downgrade back to Windows 7 now.

Yes, your BIOS file remains consistent across all operating systems. The most recent version is P8Z68-M PRO BIOS 4003. Keep in mind that updating a BIOS carries some risk, but with the proper steps and modern motherboards, it can be safe.

Hello.
Updating drivers is usually to eliminate any problems with bad drivers causing failures outside of the OC. Windows 10 automatically downloads the best drivers available for it, and if your computer runs well, then you can overclock. There is no need for windows 7.
The BIOS may need to be upgraded if you use an older version than 3902. But you can still overclock without much issues with your base BIOS. It may just have more stability issues, thus you might not be able to overclock as high as with a newer BIOS.

I see. My BIOS version is currently at 0601 and I looked at the updates for the motherboard but there are none for Windows 10 64x. I assumed that this meant it was not supported under windows 10. Are you saying there may some way to get the BIOS driver updated?

Your BIOS can be upgraded regardless of whether you use Windows 10 or Windows 7. This process is independent of Windows and involves using a USB flash drive containing the BIOS ROM file, inserted directly into the BIOS. You can access it via the Ez Flash 2 menu. You may also perform the update without having Windows installed, as long as you have a USB drive with the BIOS update file. For detailed steps, refer to page 51 of your manual: http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/LGA1...-M_PRO.zip
