Do any of you know how to boost battery life on a Thinkpad T520 running Windows 8.1? Back when I had Windows 7, there was this option where you drained the battery then charged it up again like that. It might have been built into Windows 7 or part of Lenovo's software called ThinkVantage. I don't really care if it's from Microsoft or third-party, as long as it doesn't force me to install ThinkVantage because my laptop works great on its own without it. I've looked for hours online and found that most sites only talk about Windows 10 or 11 now since the info used to be all about Win 7 and 8.

Hello, here are a few links to check your battery health: one shows tools to figure out how long your power lasts, and another explains ways to boost battery life on Windows 8 devices like tablets or laptops. If your battery is really low after testing, you'll need to buy a new one, but first try the tests yourself to see what's happening.

These aren't the tools I wanted. The first one just checks how long the battery lasts. I asked for something to make it last longer, not just check how long it's been used. The second one only tells you which features you can turn off in Windows so your phone uses less power—I already know that stuff. What I need is a real tool designed specifically to fix or tune my battery.
