I have been having trouble lately with my Ryzen 7 5800X that I bought just recently. I used to know when my computer crashed because I usually run an all-AMD setup, but these crashes are happening too often now. They seem only to happen when playing demanding games like Destiny 2 or MW3 at high settings and no matter what is in the game. I don't get a minidump because it's just a black screen then restarts instead of stopping cleanly, so I went to event log and saw this error. A fatal hardware error has occurred. The report says: Processor Core Error Source: Machine Check Exception Error Type: Cache Hierarchy Error Processor APIC ID: 0 The details view of this entry contains further information. I have checked every time my computer crashes and it always ends up with this same error. My cpu is undervolted to 1.1 volts. It idles around 47-52c and under stress it can reach 79. Before the undervolt, it would idle 79-80 and under stress 88-91. Specs Mobo: Asus B450M-A 2 CPU: Ryzen 7 5800X GPU: Red Devil RX 5700 XT RAM: 16GB (2 x 8GB) Red RGB Corsair Vengeance PSU: Corsair RM750e Storage: a 256GB SATA SSD and a 1TB SATA HDD both with more than 35GB free.

sorry, i am kinda lazy here but eventually it can help you. Your PC is still rebooting right now with the error: "Reported by component: Processor Core Error Source: Machine Check Exception Error Type: Cache Hierarchy Error." I've had this issue since i built my PC in february. I tried posting about it on different forums, subreddits, and discord servers etc., but it keeps happening. My monitor goes black. The sound either hangs or cuts out entirely or just skips. And then the computer reboots. Sometimes i'm just stuck with a...

Hi, not sure if anyone else needs help with this, but me too! I tried a bunch of things: upgraded the motherboard BIOS and GPU drivers, changed the stock settings, tested RAM by swapping sticks around and putting just one in at a time. Nothing fixed it until I reinstalled Windows and then it stopped crashing. At first I thought it was the Windows install, but no... It turned out to be my GPU overclocking. After reinstalling Windows, I didn't overclock the GPU anymore, so that's when I figured it out. TLDR; for me, it was an overly high overclock in some games. I hope this helps someone else having this problem too!
