Do you have a problem with your laptop's keyboard?
Hey everyone, I have a problem with my Lenovo Legion Y520-15ikbn laptop. Lately, when I press down on the right side of the palm rest, random keys are getting pressed in. I recorded a video of it, you can check it out here: link . I cleaned my laptop recently and even had to replace the hinge, which made me take out almost all parts of it. I used compressed air and didn't use any liquid during the cleaning process. The laptop was working fine after I put it back together, but this problem has started again. I've checked every possible software cause, and I'm pretty sure it's a hardware issue. Although the keyboard is still working, I think something might be touching something else (maybe under the motherboard?) when I press down on the plastic cover. I already checked and reconnected the keyboard connector, which helped reduce the problem a little bit. I also attach a picture of the laptop inside, which might help you see what's going on: link . I'm planning to sell this laptop, so I am really worried about this issue. I already spent a lot of money on replacement parts, so it would be great if you could give me some advice or suggestions on how to fix this problem. Thanks for reading my message. Let me know if you need more info from me.
Update: I finally solved the problem! It came out that I had put the metal RAM cover in the wrong place while rebuilding my laptop, which made it touch the keyboard pins and create fake clicks every time I pressed the palm rest. I feel a bit silly for not checking sooner, but happy to know it's fixed now. I attached a picture so you can see this if your computer ever acts weird like that. link
