Hey, W11 Home users on a PC with cable. I've heard you might need a Windows 11 account to use your fingerprint reader. I don't want an account because it makes logging into sites hard for me. Google keeps asking me for a PIN instead of just checking the saved passwords. And would this happen if I tried using my face? TA Desmond.

What are you trying to use a fingerprint scanner for? I don't think you need a Microsoft account to set up your fingerprints, it should work right now without one. This setting only applies to facial recognition, not fingerprints.

What are you looking for when you use a fingerprint scanner? Well, the answer is pretty clear. You need it for sites like banks and places that ask for a password today, such as Amazon or eBay. I have a phone. When I open it with my finger, I can log into my bank, Amazon, and eBay just by touching them to my phone. It's very simple. If I don't even need an MSA (my security number), that would be great help. Sometimes I cannot log in because of an MSA. I keep getting Google pop-ups asking for a PIN and making mistakes. The problem is if I use the same email on more than one site, everything goes wrong. I have to create lots of different emails just to avoid this mess. I want to get back to how it used to be in Windows 10 or before when boxes were just completed easily by me. Having a fingerprint reader makes things much easier. If someone else got access to my computer (like a child) could log into eBay and buy a Ferrari, something that happened to one family last year and made the news. A fingerprint would stop all of this from happening again.

that picture of the login screen I saw looks like what you get when you need to enter a password. It shouldn't show up every time you log in to something with an account. Something is wrong if your computer keeps asking for that. Maybe windows Hello could do it too. https://www.zdnet.com/article/windo...o-...ngerprint/
