Essentially, it might not hold much value for collectors right now. The CPU is functional, but the boards are dead.
It would likely sell for less without accessories. The CPU is functional, so maybe it can still be sold with the board. It looks like the hardware dates back to about 2002—probably quite old. You might need an older operating system to run it. Since it has PCI slots, a USB mouse and keyboard should work, but you’ll probably need a GPU that matches its capabilities. The BIOS lists its model, so I can check what postcode codes are supported (like 52, 75, 87). Your Giga EP45 boards are all gone now.
Curious mainly because I've never worked with such old hardware before. The only thing at risk is a few dollars if I don't succeed, but the potential rewards could be huge if I do well. It's not just for fun or curiosity—though that helps. I don’t think there are many more collectors’ items available since it’s an ASF model; probably the accessories are long gone.
Actually theres a decent bit of this vintage dead hardware up for sale but not really as cheap as the chaintech, the only thing i see of value among these would be the 2 pentium 3 boards with isa slots, the others look like generic boards worth nothing atleast to my uninformed eye And on the last photo i do wonder if the board on the right has any value, though it uses some ram that isnt ddr and i doubt anyones selling whatever ram that needs atleast for a decent price, slot has 2 notches 1 in the middle and 1 at the bottom. Board on the left has no value obviously, new enough to have pcie and its just a generic hp board
It's great to hear the P3/P4 days are behind us. Things were entertaining back then, but they're not like they used to be anymore. 32-bit tech is now just eWaste. I used a dual Socket 370 at 1GHz until 32-bit became obsolete, after which it stopped working and I had to recycle it all. D:
The real issue was the rapid pace of progress back then, unlike today’s more gradual improvements.
