Do I save site settings if I hit Clear Cache?
Do I save site settings if I hit Clear Cache?
Hey everyone, I need to know how to get rid of all the cache and history inside Chrome for my Windows computer. But I don't want to erase the settings I made for a specific site because it's a TV Guide page and you can hide certain infomercial channels to make things less crowded on your screen. That is what I really need to be able to do so I never have to repeat this process again. If I click on the gear icon at the top right of the guide, I can turn off selected channels, but I cannot save those choices or log in. Here is a link to the site Melbourne TV Guide - All TV Show times, All Channels - 9Entertainment View the latest Melbourne TV Guide featuring complete program listings across every TV channel by day, time, genre and channel. www.yourtv.com.au Any ideas? Does this work on Chrome too? I would appreciate some help 😛 ciao Dylan
Normally, these settings are saved on your browser's cookie page. So you should keep those cookies, but then delete the history and cache (the temporary files). This might or might not fix the problem. The problem is that cookies can remember things from advertisers too, like where you've logged in before. Some browsers let you choose which ones to keep while others don't. Try turning this option on if you want to see what happens with Chrome or Firefox. You can do this by going into Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data > Manage Exceptions.
Normally, these settings are saved on your computer as cookies. So make sure you keep them but delete the history and temporary files. This might work sometimes or never. The problem with cookies is they also track ads and store login info for many websites. Some browsers let you keep some cookies even when clearing all cookies. Check this to see if it works in Chrome or not. It's possible in Firefox by going to Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data > Manage Exceptions.
