Hi guys,
Before I start using a baseball bat on my PC, I need some assistance. I have Windows 10 Pro fully updated, an M5A78L Mobo with 16GB of Kingston RAM, a DD3 motherboard, an RX 480 8GB card with the latest drivers. Regardless of what I do—whether using VSync or all settings high or mid—I still experience micro stutters in games like GTA 5 and BF1, and even in BF4. This issue has been tested on a fresh Windows 10 install, with both my OS and GTA 5 running on separate SSDs. The game runs for about 30 seconds before lagging briefly and then restarting. It can happen when there are explosions or when the game is paused. My wife’s GTX 970 didn’t help, but she can play GTA on her Bulldozer 6300 and the GTX 970 works fine. I’ve checked the temperatures for both GPU and CPU, which are within normal ranges. People in the Discord have suggested upgrading, but I’ve seen others with worse setups still play perfectly.

These games require a lot of CPU power. The IPC for the FX series falls short compared to the demands of the games. Upgrading is necessary.

All drivers need to be updated, and a new version should be installed. The FX8 is outdated but shouldn't cause micro stutter in GTA or BF1 because those games handle multiple threads well.

Thank you for the response. It's still the same. I just ran it and it matches the recommendations.

Are you wondering if you reduce your frame rate with tools like MSI Afterburner? I've noticed this issue causing stutters in both MSI Afterburner and game settings. Look into whether you adjusted your settings that way.
