yes, sure and i know, but my point was a bit of overclocking wont get rid of the perceived "bottleneck" - idk if there is a bottleneck but in that screenshot one core is definitely hopelessly maxed out, you see, its still going to be like that, just a few seconds later perhaps. But if theres something going on in the background like recording, eliminating that *could* maybe free up 20% or more thus getting rid of the bottleneck - maybe. Can do both of course , hah.

I saw a notable boost on my Ryzen 5 1600 when switching from stock to overclocked, particularly in MMOs. At stock speeds, it runs around 3.3ghz, but with overclocking it reached 4ghz—a 700mhz jump. I also noticed a similar leap from my 8700k at 4.3ghz to 5ghz. For the i9-10900KF, a rise from 4.9ghz to 5.1ghz isn't that impressive. A 200mhz increase won't be decisive. The issue you're highlighting is whether it truly resolves the problem; if not, it may reflect a flawed mindset. You likely won't see a 20% improvement over stock. A more achievable gain would be 10-15%, which feels realistic and worthwhile. Instead of focusing on your GPU hitting 70% utilization, consider it might be in the 80s or higher—still a solid upgrade without much effort. A 10% increase may not seem huge, but it's better than nothing. The RTX 3090 only offers about 10-15% improvement over the RTX 3080, and a 6800XT to 6900XT is similar. If you can push any component up by 10%, that difference makes a meaningful impact compared to moving up a whole tier.

It's not necessary to mention that. If you manage to upgrade the GPU, the rest of your system can also be optimized, they're essentially similar... mostly. I haven't experimented with underclocking the CPU, but I can run it at 4650 at 1.25v before enabling PBO, and my FIT is 1.243v. That works perfectly for me. I'm okay with a slight loss in performance here for the benefits elsewhere. The temperatures are under control, cooler, and more efficient than if I let it run freely. Upgrading makes the system faster, lighter, and more responsive. I strongly support this approach. I currently have a 5900 in my cart, but I'm being cautious just in case.

It's not too hard, but getting things learned on your own can be challenging. It's fine to seek assistance. Ahh, you don't have to rely on RM. I used it occasionally when starting with AM4; I stick to UEFI. I have a bit of a hesitation about overclocking in Windows and adjusting fans—same goes for tuning BIOS settings. Keeping things simple is better. With your experience, I understand why you're cautious, that's a rough beginning!
