Do I need to hit smoothest at 60fps using my Nvidia Control Panel?
I tried the Riva stats tuner first but found Nvidia Control Panel works better for 30fps with no screen tearing and low latency. (My guess) I've been testing every single setting. The smoothest settings are AC Odyssey with vsync fast and latency on. But I'm really trying to get smoother at 30fps if possible. Any tips or suggestions would be very helpful. Thanks!
If by smooth you mean consistent frame time, then a frame rate limiter with low latency turned off (unless your CPU can never go faster than that time) and set to VSync. This stops the GPU from rendering frames outside of a 33.3ms window, lets some buffering happen if there are lag spikes, and makes sure the GPU doesn't show a frame before the screen reaches its refresh period. Fast Sync only works well if your frame rate is much higher than your monitor's refresh rate.
That game uses the CPU a lot. I would try turning up the power setting for Windows so the CPU works at its fastest. I agree with Hotaru, cutting low latency might actually slow down how many frames you make. Have you tried using MSI Afterburner to overclock your GPU? Maybe I can get more out of my 1070. If you have good cooling on your CPU, check if your BIOS has an option to boost the turbo rate for a regular processor.
